Even though the summer gone is not such a thrill, October can give us some very nice emotions. I am not talking here about warm cuddles with your significant ones while outside is raining, no.

October is a month that gives each year a new art challenge. And yes, I am talking about Inktober. Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavour with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. Since 2016 there have been official prompt lists with topics for each day. One can post each day, once a week or whenever the time is good for them. The point is to share our art.

Of course, it should be done in ink but if you don't work in that technique you can participate in some of the several Inktober alternatives. Or you can just challenge yourself with the prompt list and make 31 illustrations in your technique.

Here is the official prompt list for this year:

And some alternatives of Inktober:

You can try it.
